Just wanted to send our Easter greetings to everyone who follows and supports the fair. Yesterday we had a great day in the Old Town Hall, home of the 1st Buckingham Vintage Fair. The lovely venue received lots of positive comments from our stall holders and visitors alike.

Inside These Doors And Up A Grand Staircase!

When we arrived at 8.30 some of the stall holders were waiting for the doors to open. There was then about two hours of frenetic activity as the ballroom was transformed into the most colourful display. Everyone was great and entered into the spirit of the day, and met the challenge of the grand staircase fully laden with lots of lovely vintage and handmade. Amazingly by 10.30am all the tables had been prepared, the old style tea shop had been set up, a table of delicious cakes lay waiting and a there was quite a buzz of anticipation throughout the room.

There were some beautiful original vintage items on the stalls, this quilt caught my eye (but not before it had been snapped up by a very happy customer).

As visitors walked up the stairs to the sales room they were greeted by the sounds of Glen Miller and other 40s favourites. This was our first fair in the market town of Buckingham and we seemed to have raised the interest of the local townsfolk who arrived in good numbers to see what was going on. 

Vintage Luggage Is Always Popular

I saw someone walking across the Market Square with the large trunk.  Textiles and all types of homeware are always popular and have a strong presence in our fairs. 

An Eclectic Mix Of Vintage Wares

As well as stalls selling original vintage we also had a good selection of handmade stalls. I particularly like the gift tags from Vintage Vixen (http://vintagevixen.org.uk/).

The 'risque glamour' of these tags draws influence from the United States glamour art used in calendars and postcards in the 40s and 50s.

Clearly in the 50s San Franciscans were quite 'adventourous' in their approach to selling agricultural chemicals!

Mohair animals and vintage toys are also very popular, I searched around the room for a toy yacht without luck but did spot this smart little poodle.

Our special guest for the day was the sweet little Meg who posed for the camera, she is such a sweet gentle little dog and patiently waited for her owner as we chatted.

I would like to thank everyone who came to the fair, you all played a part in making the day so pleasant, we will definitely be returning to Buckingham in October (if not before!).
