The Summer Fairs 2017 & Vintage Finds

I'm not sure where these old grocers tables came from originally but Odell is a village in Bedfordshire  which produces Odell Blue cheese. The summer fairs commence in Olney in May.

Olney is a small market town in north Buckinghamshire, not far from Odell in neighbouring Bedfordshire. The Olney Fair has been running since 2011 and takes place in the pretty Church Hall of St Peter & St Paul, it is just a few seconds away from the busy Market Place which is lined with independent cafes and shops and features good examples of Georgian architecture which one might not expect to see.

We like old handmade toy furniture, these pieces were brought back from a recent trip to France. It sometimes appears on the stalls at our fairs and is always nice to see.

The Stamford Fair will take  place on the last Saturday in May in the Ballroom at Stamford Arts Centre.  Stamford is good for shopping, has some good street market stalls and also has a new vintage shop which I am looking forward to visiting.

We will be returning to Heart of the Shires near Weedon for a two day fair over the first weekend of June. There were some excellent stalls last October and we can't wait to return. There is a restaurant, a fantastic children's play area and numerous independent shops.

The Flywheel Festival will be taking place for the third time at Bicester Heritage at the end of June. The vintage fair takes place inside a traditional marquee and we will be joined by a vintage caravan and some 'brocant style' stalls outside the grass.

We return to Northampton for the Vintage Jumble at St Matthew's in mid July. There will be two rooms stalls inside along with more outside on the lawn in the pretty walled garden. The tea room will be serving homemade cakes and picnickers are very welcome.
