The Vintage Jumble July 2018

The Phippsville Vintage Jumble (July 2018)

The Vintage Jumble will be taking place at St Matthew's (27A The Drive, Northampton. NN1 4RY) on Saturday 7th July. It brings together an array of stalls where everything is sold at significantly reduced cost. generally it a mix of clothes, costume jewellery, haberdashery, textiles, accessories, small pieces of furniture and ephemera.

Dogs Are Welcome At The Vintage Jumble

You are welcome to bring your four legged friends along to the Jumble although I might ask to take a photo of your hound as I do like to feature dogs who visit the fair. It is gong to very warm so please have this in mind. There will be a tea room serving homemade cakes and vegan ice creams will be available from. a tricycle.

Old Threads

I always look out for old haberdashery items and was really pleased when I found two complete sets of threads at the last Vintage Jumble which took place earlier this year in March.

1930s Embroidery

I found these two embroidered pictures in one of my local charity shops in Northampton last week.

Summer Flowers

We found these flowers in a small tea room in Sibbertoft which is a village in north Northamptonshire. Tea and homemade cake is available every Sunday afternoon throughout the summer and there are often lovely flowers available for sale too.

Wings At Bicester!

We formed part of the vintage village at the recent Flywheel Festival which took place at Bicester Heritage in Oxfordshire. It was a fabulous weekend and the weather was wonderful, it did not stop shining, and miraculously as I write twelve days later it still has not stopped shining! What a summer 2018 has been so far!

Kewpie Cutie

I found this doll on one of the stalls at Bicester, she lost her legs a long time ago but I think that adds to her charm.

Love Letters Vintage Caravan At Bicester (June 2018)

Sarah  of Love letters Vintage Caravan creates her stall around a fully restored 1960s Cheltenham caravan called Joan. Sarah will be joining us again in September for Pistons and Props at Sywell.

Vintage Italian Style By Fiat

There were lots of beautiful vehicles on display at Bicester this Fiat 600 caught my eye as did the bronze Jaguar.

A Very Stylish Motor!

A visit to the Country Brocant in Sussex yielded the pink wicker basket and the loom chair was a charity shop find in Olney last weekend.

Recent Finds

The chair would look nice tucked into the corner of a shaded verandah or by the side of a little stove in a summerhouse with a silk cushion.

Say It With Flowers

I know they are probably not to everyones taste but I love these huge allium flowers, they are some way past their best but still look great chucked into an enamel jug.

Hope to see you at the Jumble on Saturday and best wishes for a for the remainder of summer.
