Getting Ready For The Fair On Sunday

This Is Where We Will Be On Sunday

This is an old postcard showing the Town Hall in Buckingham, I am guessing the original picture was taken during the 40s/50s. The scene today has changed very little which is something that I am very happy to report. Perhaps the modern sprawl of Milton Keynes just a few miles down the road was the saving of a very pretty characterful town.

The Old Town Hall - October 2012

I visited Buckingham today to get a few things ready for the Vintage Fair which is taking place in the Old Town Hall on Sunday. The pale blue sign which is just about visible to the side of the entrance will hopefully be getting the attention of the good people of Bucks.

This Sunday - The Doors Open At 11

The Town Hall is really easy to find as it is situated in the middle of town and there is plenty of free parking on a Sunday. The postcode for those of you using satnav is MK18 1NJ. Although the town has all modern amenities it retains the charm of a bygone age. The fair takes place in the large ballroom upstairs in the Old Town Hall which you will find by walking up the sweeping staircase.

The 2nd Buckingham Vintage Fair

When we held the first fair in Buckingham back in April we had a great day, a lot of people came along on the day and we received some great feedback about the quality and range of stalls. Our fairs always have a large proportion of stalls displaying original vintage homewares from the 30s-60s: textiles, kitchenalia, prints, toys, ceramics, costume jewellery and ephemera are always very popular. We always have a good range of stalls selling handmade giftware and items for the home, made from vintage fabrics or inspired by original designs. Specialist vintage fashion stalls (including handbags!) are also very popular and are becoming a regular feature at our fairs as are items of upcycled furniture which are very affordable.

The Nostalgic Kitchen can't wait to be part of this fair. We did not do the fair in April and so have not seen the sweeping staircase yet and I'm excited!
