Getting Ready For Tomorrow's Vintage Fair In Olney
"Lets Go To Olney - The Fair Will Be There" |
I spent several hours this afternoon preparing the room for our 4th Olney Vintage Fair which is taking place tomorrow. You will find us in the Church Hall of St Peter & St Paul's, a pretty building made of stone situated on the main road which runs through the centre of Olney. It is a very short walk (30 seconds) from the busy Market Square, walk in the direction of The Olney Wine Bar and Soul's Garage.

The fair will start at 11am although I and the stall holders will be there from much earlier filling the room with all sorts of original vintage from the 30s - 70s and some lovely individual handmade creations. I am going to make a concerted effort to take better photos of the day tomorrow, I am usually busy talking to stall holders and everyone who visits the fair that I neglect the need to record the day.
There might be 'light at the end of the tunnel' as a photographer may be coming along to a fair soon to take some 'publicity shots'.

I never visit Olney without calling in to the lovely Olney Deli. I managed to slip away from the Church Hall for a few minutes, as ever I was tempted by the quiche which is the best I have ever eaten but settled for a cream tea as it was mid-afternoon.
Less Than A Day Away |
It will be our 4th Fair in Olney tomorrow, we had a lovely day when we were last there in early May, and will be returning in November. It is a lovely town to hold a fair in, the people that come along appreciate the quality of the stalls and the ambience of nostalgia created in the sales room, there are also lots of independent shops to visit and many places to eat.
It Seems A Long Way But It Will Soon Be Autumn |
Here is a map showing the situation of the venue and the location of the largest of the free car-parks which is about 3 minutes walk away.

We hope you have a safe journey if you are intending to travel to Olney to visit us tomorrow. Your continued support for our fairs is very much appreciated and it is great to see 'friends of the fair' who have been with us from the very start.
See you tomorrow.
